Who we are
Jewelrysence is operated by Jewelrysence Ltd (company number 00000000), registered office 123 High Street, London, UK. We are the data controller for the personal data described below. Contact: hello@jewelrysence.com.
What we collect
- Account details you provide when registering (name, email, hashed password).
- Order and shipping details (name, email, phone, postal address, order contents).
- Strictly necessary cookies used to keep your cart and sign-in session working.
- Server logs for security and abuse prevention (IP, user agent, request paths).
Why we use it
- To process and deliver your order (contract performance, UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- To meet our accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c)).
- To run and secure the website (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)).
Sharing
We share order data only with carriers and service providers necessary to fulfil the order (e.g. courier, payment processor when introduced). We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising.
Retention
Order records are retained as required by UK accounting and consumer law (typically six years from the end of the relevant tax year). Account data is retained while your account is active and deleted on request.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, port and erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. Send requests to hello@jewelrysence.com. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
European Union residents
If you are located in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), the EU GDPR applies to our processing of your data. You possess identical rights to access, correct, or erase your data as outlined above. In addition to your right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority in the EU member state where you reside.
Is providing data mandatory?
Providing your contact, shipping and card details is a contractual requirement. Without this information, we are unable to process your transactions and deliver your jewelry pieces to you.
Payment data security
All financial transactions are handled securely through third-party payment providers. We do not store or have access to your full credit or debit card numbers on our servers. The card details you enter at checkout are transmitted directly to our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor.
International data transfers
Some of our external service providers (such as website hosts, analytics tools, and payment gateways) are located outside of the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area (EEA), meaning your personal data may be transferred to countries like the United States. Whenever we transfer your data internationally, we ensure it receives a similar degree of protection by ensuring appropriate legal safeguards are in place, such as UK International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTA) or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission.
